Thrive Offline, A Hogg Foundation TCBRI Grant Recipient

The Hogg Foundation’s Texas Capacity Building and Resiliency pilot grant initiative will award $2.1 million to 29 organizations to strengthen their infrastructure and help them remain adaptable and forward-thinking in the face of new challenges.
The grants enable awardees to invest in their organizational priorities that align with the Hogg Foundation’s mission to support Texas communities’ capacity to advance mental health in everyday life. Funded projects also align with at least one of the foundation’s strategic focus areas: Community; Partnership; Policy; and Research, Education, and Innovation.
“The Texas Capacity Building and Resiliency Initiative aims to address operational, programmatic, and/or financial gaps to strengthen community-driven organizations ability to achieve their goals,” says Maddie Garza, program associate at the Hogg Foundation.” “It will be exciting to watch how these organizations advance their missions and support the mental health and well-being of their communities in the future.”
Recognizing the importance of community-based leadership, the grants focus on smaller community-led organizations which operate with annual budgets of less than $250,000.
“Small, community-rooted organizations play an essential role in responding to the needs of their communities and implementing local solutions with community input,” says Dr. Octavio N. Martinez, Jr., executive director of the Hogg Foundation. “Indeed, this initiative is designed to be flexible to the needs of each organization as they work to support the mental health and well-being of individuals and families in their communities.”
